Q: Misha, your journey into interior design is fascinating. How did it all begin?
Misha Andersen: Travel has always been my biggest inspiration. Every country I visit is a chance to immerse in culture, uncover hidden gems, and hunt for one-of-a-kind treasures. Antique markets, artisan workshops, and small, tucked-away galleries fuel my creative process—my collection started in Cambodia, Nepal, Bhutan, and Japan, and it never stopped growing. With over 100 countries visited, I still find joy in discovering rare craftsmanship and pieces with a story.
My background in global marketing gave me an eye for storytelling, but design became my true calling. More than aesthetics, it’s about setting a mood, shifting energy, and creating spaces that feel alive and personal. That realisation led me to where I am today, blending my love for art, culture, and interiors to craft unique environments for my clients.
Q: Your designs are known for their timeless elegance with an eclectic edge. How would you describe your personal style?
Misha Andersen: I love the unexpected—mixing classic elegance with bold statements. It’s all about contrasts: rich materials against minimalist lines, modern elements infused with antique treasures, and a balance of sophistication with a playful twist. My philosophy is simple: a space should evoke joy, curiosity, and personality. Whether it’s through vibrant colours, art curation, or bespoke design pieces, every project should tell a story and feel effortlessly lived-in.
Q: Your background in global marketing is quite unique in the design world. How has that influenced your approach?
Misha Andersen: Marketing is all about understanding people—and so is design. My experience in brand identity, customer experience, and high-pressure project management has shaped how I work today. Interior design is more than just aesthetics; it’s about creating an emotional connection between people and their space.
I thrive under tight deadlines and love bringing together clients, suppliers, and artists to execute a vision seamlessly. The best projects are built on collaboration, precision, and a deep understanding of how people interact with their environment. Whether it’s a home, a retail space, or an immersive installation, my goal is always to create something that feels fluid, real, and long-lasting.
Q: What sets your work apart in the industry?
Misha Andersen: Relentless curiosity and an obsession with materials. I’m drawn to the unexpected—bold palettes, rare finishes, and craftsmanship that tells a story rather than just fills a space. Every project is a deep dive into personality, culture, and purpose, ensuring no two spaces ever feel the same.
Restyling a hotel isn’t just about aesthetics or budget efficiency—it’s about creating an atmosphere that lingers, where every detail plays into the narrative. An educational space? It’s about shaping environments that spark curiosity, interaction, and a sense of belonging.
For me, inspiration comes from movement, people, and exchange—learning, evolving, and taking risks. Great design isn’t static; it breathes, shifts, and leaves a lasting imprint.
Q: You’ve built an incredible reputation in the interior design world. What do you think has contributed to your success?
Misha Andersen: Passion, authenticity, and a constant hunger to evolve. I genuinely love what I do, and I think that energy comes through in my work. I’ve never stopped learning—from studying historical influences to collaborating with modern artisans, I always push my creative boundaries.
Q: What services do you offer, and what kind of projects excite you the most?
Misha Andersen: My team and I work across residential, commercial, and experiential spaces, blending interior design, brand identity, and customer experience strategy. We handle everything from full-scale renovations and project management to curating exhibitions and designing retail concepts, hotels chains, rebranding and new business models proposals.
I love projects where I can push creative boundaries—whether it’s crafting immersive hospitality experiences, luxurious homes, or statement retail spaces. The key is always the same: storytelling through design.
Q: What’s next for you? Any exciting projects on the horizon?
Misha Andersen: I’m exploring how design impacts human behaviour and well-being, diving into projects that merge physical spaces with digital experiences. There’s also a strong focus on sustainable luxury and material innovation, collaborating with artisans and brands to create spaces that are as conscious as they are stunning.
