A Fresh Chapter in Her Musical Journey
American indie-pop and country-pop artist, songwriter, and actress Kelly Padrick is adding a new dimension to her musical career with Butterflies, an EP released in September 2026. Produced by Marc Copely, the collection combines reflective themes with an uplifting perspective, showcasing another stage in Padrick’s continuing artistic development.
A Lifelong Passion for Songwriting
Originally from Rhode Island and now residing in New York City, Padrick began writing music when she was only five years old. Her years of experience have helped her cultivate a recognizable sound that blends elements of indie pop, country-pop, and dream pop. Airy harmonies, atmospheric textures, and emotionally driven lyrics remain central to her approach, allowing her songs to communicate personal experiences through music.
Music Featured Across Film and Television
Padrick’s creative work has reached audiences through several well-known screen productions. Her songs have been featured in ABC’s Desperate Housewives, HBO’s VICE, and the Fox Searchlight film Trust the Man. These placements demonstrate how her distinctive sound can complement different visual formats while connecting with listeners beyond traditional music audiences.
A Creative Partnership with Filmmaker Patricia Chica
Visual expression has long been an important part of Padrick’s artistic identity. Her collaboration with filmmaker Patricia Chica has produced 11 music videos, including “Waiting for This” and the award-winning “Heavenly Ride.” Through these projects, the two artists have developed a creative partnership centered on combining music with cinematic storytelling.
Their collaboration will continue with a planned video for “Shine,” a song from Butterflies. Filming is scheduled to take place in Montreal in January 2027, adding another visual chapter to Padrick’s expanding body of work.
Exploring a Discography Spanning More Than a Decade
The arrival of Butterflies builds on a catalogue shaped by years of songwriting and musical experimentation. Padrick’s earlier albums include Haze (2005), Carmine Street (2007), Hello My Love (2009), Soulmate (2011), The Kind of Girl (2013), Dear Love (2014), and It’s Only Me / On the Line (2016).
Her additional releases and projects include Fires, The Real Me, and the singles “I’ll Try” and “Shine.” Together, these works reflect the breadth of her creative output and the evolution of her musical expression over the years.
Looking Ahead with Butterflies and “Shine”
With her latest EP, Kelly Padrick continues to explore the relationship between music, emotion, and visual storytelling. Butterflies represents a further step in her artistic evolution, while the upcoming “Shine” video offers an opportunity to expand its creative world through film.
As Padrick continues developing new projects, her work remains rooted in expressive songwriting, atmospheric sounds, and a cinematic sensibility that brings her musical ideas to life.
